"On the Bandwagon"

Yep! I did it, I went against my word and jumped on the Phillip Lim bandwagon, I just couldn't resist. I had initially fell in love with the collection way before it came out and like everyone else waited with bated breath for it to be released. The line was released while I was on vacation in Jamaica, but when I returned my social media news feed was full of pictures and posts of sold out Targets, people buying up pieces of the collection in bulk, and even Target online was sold out. I was completely over it at that point and was not going to stress myself trying to find the pieces I originally wanted, but then the fashion Gods smiled on me....LOL
I happened to be on an different side of town shopping for therapy materials and I ran into a Target to buy some toiletries and guess what, the pieces that I wanted were there and in my size......fashion divine intervention I guess.
I paired the skirt with a thrifted Diane Von Furstenburg blouse ($1.50 can you believe it???), Jeffery Campbell platforms, simple gold accessories, and I used the coordinating scarf as a head wrap.

Although it is technically fall here in Atlanta, we have had some pretty amazing weather. So as you see I am taking full advantage of these warm 85 degree temperature days.

So how amazing is this blouse?? I love the details and the feel of the fabric. I can't believe I lucked up on it at the thrift store. This vintage Chanel pin is another thrift store treasure that I found years ago. About three years ago I took it to to have it appraised to see if it was real, and honey chile' it was!! I paid $3.50 for it, but the woman I took it to looked up the serial number and told me I could sale it for at least $400-$500.....amazing right??? It is a staple in my wardrobe for sure you can see how I have wore it HERE and HERE .
Yep my eyes are semi closed but oh wells... I love the shot....LOL. So did any of you ladies hop on the Phillip Lim bandwagon? What did you buy? Word on the street is it is now on super clearance at Target...hmm. You can check out the other pieces of the collection HERE.

"Cray"

Hi guys!!!!! It's been forever since I posted I know, but life for me right now is going the speed of a Japanese Bullet Train, and I am just holding on for dear life. Anywhoo, not gonna bore you with the details of my forever hectic life but, instead lets move forward and discuss my outfit........
I thrifted this organza like material A-line skirt many moons ago and decided to pair it with a Forever 21  crop top, my "All Chains" Jefferey Campbells, and gold accessories. I LOVE this skirt! The picture doesn't really capture the beauty of the rich emerald green color.

I honestly forgot that I had these babies in my shoe repertoire'. I bought them for my birthday in March and  I first wore them HERE. Unfortunately I haven't worn them since...*sigh*

Happy Monday!... P.S I am South Africa bound in 12 days.....can you say EXCITED!!!

"Back at It"

Hey dolls!!! I am back! I really did not plan on taking this long of a break, but hey man life happens....literally. I am still on my constant grind, but I am really going to make a conscience effort to carve out time to dedicate to the one thing that I truly have a passion for. I hope you all are enjoying your summer and staying cool. I decided to get some Senegalese twists a couple of weeks ago, because I wanted to try a different protective style than my normal sew in. My hair is so thick and natural, so maintaining it while working out five times a week became a real challenge. Needless to say I am in love with my new do. Totally maintenance free and so many styling options.
I wore this adorable denim skater dress a couple of weeks ago to a fashion show. I purchased it from Asos a very long time ago and actually wore it in a post HERE. I paired it with my favorite Jeffery Campbell platforms and a thrifted clutch and my staple gold necklaces.

How adorable is this book/magazine clutch. My bestest fashion boo Neshanta from Style is She actually found this for me when we payed a visit to a Goodwill about a month ago. I thought it was so nice of her to pass it to me, because we all know how it is when you thrift, it's every fashionista for themselves!...LOL
Here's how I styled the dress last fall during the colder months. Which look do you like best?
Happy Monday!

"Graphic Tank and Jeans"

Hey loves. I hope you all had a great weekend, mine definitely went by way too fast. On Thursday I went to a trunk show for Suakoke Betty. She is a local designer here who makes some beautiful mixed print fashion apparel. The show was hosted by Eboni from The Fashionista Next Door, and Trina from The Baby Shopaholic. Doing anything during the week is a real challenge for me, but I was able to put something together to make it out to the show.
I paired a graphic tank with my boyfriend jeans, a thrifted blazer, my custom Melody Eshani earrings that I first wore HERE, and my Jeffery Campbell Lanas. My hair was a mess from working out all week so I put it in a side ponytail, and added some braiding hair to create a long, thick french braid. The best five minute style ever to camouflage an untamed mane.
I had a great time and really fell in love with several pieces from her line. You can check out some of her items HERE

"Two-Toned"

Hey loves. I hate to keep apologizing for my lack of posting, but once my mojo returns and my level of work calms down I will be back on my regular posting schedule I promise. The weather here is still very emotional, so yesterday I was able to wear my FAVORITE jacket when I met one of my dear friends for lunch. I paired it with black jeans, my go to Jeffery Campbell Litas and a patchwork newsboy cap.
This coat is my fashion testimony. I immediately fell in love with it when I first came out but since it was $398, it was completely out of my price range, so I waited and waited, and waited, and waited ( 3 months exactly) and then finally at the end of the winter season  it went on sale at Dillards for $148 with an extra 60% off...YES LAWRD!!!!
See good things do come to those that wait:0)

"Lilac and Leather"

So yeah, the 70 degree weather I have been enjoying is gone and has been substituted with cold and rain. Once the rain disappeared and we had cold temperatures but then around 2 o' clock  it will suddenly warm up to a comfortable 55-60 degrees.**heavy sigh**. On Friday this was the type of day we had, so I tried to get some wear out of my winter accessories that have been collecting dust by pulling out my favorite scarf and glove combination.
I found these gloves last year at my favorite consignment store and stumbled upon this scarf at H&M a couple of weeks ago on their clearance rack. I really wanted the color to pop, so I kept it simple with all black skinnies, sweater, and leather bomber.
I really wish they would've had this scarf left in other colors, I would've definitely added as many to my wardrobe as possible, It's so soft and warm.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! xoxo

"Lost and Found"

I was going through my computer cleaning out some of my picture files and ran across these OOTD pictures that I totally forgot to post. I thought it was a cute comfy look so I decided to go ahead and share them.
I paired my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans with this coral cut-out shoulder blouse, my studded Night Walkers and a magazine clutch that I have had forever.
You all already know how much I am in love with Jeffery Campbell shoes. When these heel less Giuseppe like shoes came out over a year ago. I immediately fell in love. You may remember I wore them in my very first post HERE. I literally wear the black ones I own with EVERYTHING, ALL the time, so much so that the sole is starting to look worn...LOL. I bought these nude spiked ones about nine months ago and unfortunately have only wore them maybe five times. I love them to death they just don't go with as many things as my black ones.

I hope you all had a wonderful and restful holiday. We have five more days in 2012 can you believe it??

"Emancipation"

Hey ladies ( and some gents) I am back from a week and a half hiatus. I apologize for being M.I.A, but  I have had so much going on in my life that it really got to the point where I had to step back and evaluate some things. I needed a clear mind to  make an extremely difficult business decision to "free" myself from some things that were causing me a lot of spiritual, financial, and mental stress. I regrouped this weekend and decided to take a break from my Uggs and sweat pants, and I stepped back into my old fashion forward self.
I decided to recreate an outfit I wore a couple weeks back when I attempted to go to a party with one of my girlfriends. The party was a bust, I had to wait in line ,annnnnnd I wasted an outfit, which as you should already know is a fashionista's biggest pet peeve! I paired my favorite  tights with a short/suspender combination that I first wore HERE. I removed the suspenders and added a sweater, wide brim hat, and a jacket/dress with gold details that I thrifted last week for four bucks!
I am so in love with this gold studded clutch that I first wore HERE. It holds and goes with EVERYTHING! I am also a huge fan of hats. Fedoras, snap backs, newsboys, tams, you name it I love them all. I especially love wearing these type of wide brimmed hats in the fall in winter.
As 2012 quickly comes to an end. I am doing a lot of self reflecting in hopes to learn from mistakes I have made, and use them as stepping stones to become stronger and grow. What are some of your resolutions?

"December 4th"

Anyone who knows me is aware that I am probably one of the biggest Jay Z ( and Beyonce but mainly Jay) fans in the universe. My love for him goes beyond just being a fan. From the first time I heard "Reasonable Doubt" my senior year in high school up until today my love has just become stronger and stronger...LOL. Since today is his 42nd birthday I thought I would pay homage, by dedicating an entire post to Mr. Shawn Carter.
I bought this shirt when I went to to Brooklyn in October to see him perform at the Barclays Center. I paired it with a leather mini, tights,  black blazer ,my Jeffery Campbell Nightwalkers and of course my go to Queen of the Jungle necklace that as you have probably noticed I wear with errrthang.

My love for him goes beyond the music, his genius level talent, business mind ,triumphs, personality, etc. I could go on and on and list about 1000 attributes as to why I think he is the greatest but I will spare you and myself from looking like a "Stan".....LOL

You can check out my "Watch the Throne" outfit post HERE and the Barclays Center concert outfit post HERE.

"Fall"

So we have one more month of my favorite season and about a month and a half before the end of 2012. I can not believe how fast this year has gone by. I LOVE the fall season. The change in the weather, trees, wardrobes, nothing is better.

On Sunday I got a chance to wear one of the two favorite blazers in my wardrobe. It was made by a friend of mine named Nykki. She has an awesome eye for vintage clothing and sells some pretty amazing pieces. You can check out the two other pieces I bought from her HERE and HERE.

I paired the blazer with a pair of ripped jeans that I first wore HERE and HERE and my Jeffery Campbell Lanas
If you are interested in getting a blazer like this one, or in some of her other awesome vintage pieces you can contact Nykki HERE.
