"Back at It"

Hey dolls!!! I am back! I really did not plan on taking this long of a break, but hey man life happens....literally. I am still on my constant grind, but I am really going to make a conscience effort to carve out time to dedicate to the one thing that I truly have a passion for. I hope you all are enjoying your summer and staying cool. I decided to get some Senegalese twists a couple of weeks ago, because I wanted to try a different protective style than my normal sew in. My hair is so thick and natural, so maintaining it while working out five times a week became a real challenge. Needless to say I am in love with my new do. Totally maintenance free and so many styling options.
I wore this adorable denim skater dress a couple of weeks ago to a fashion show. I purchased it from Asos a very long time ago and actually wore it in a post HERE. I paired it with my favorite Jeffery Campbell platforms and a thrifted clutch and my staple gold necklaces.

How adorable is this book/magazine clutch. My bestest fashion boo Neshanta from Style is She actually found this for me when we payed a visit to a Goodwill about a month ago. I thought it was so nice of her to pass it to me, because we all know how it is when you thrift, it's every fashionista for themselves!...LOL
Here's how I styled the dress last fall during the colder months. Which look do you like best?
Happy Monday!

"Mint Color Block"

Mint has quickly become one of my favorite colors (next to purple of course). I found this top recently at Forever 21 and loved the color blocking of the two greens.
I paired it with a pair of distressed jeans that I first wore here, and my favorite gold accessories.
I hope everyone is having a great week. Mine has been beyond hectic, but I am excited because I will be leaving out on tomorrow to meet my besties in NYC. If you follow me on twitter or Instagram you probably know that I am the biggest Jay Z fan in the world. With that being said it was no question that I was going to Brooklyn to see him perform in the new Barclay Center. We are going to the final concert on Saturday night and I can't wait! I get a fashion high when I go to NYC, so I am super excited to share the images that I will capture and of course my NYC inspired OOTD with you . My blog is almost a year old (yipeee) and it is ironic that the second post I did was when I went to the Watch the Throne tour last year. Check out the post here.

"Red Stripes"

As you can probably can tell I am obsessed with anything peplum. Peplum dresses and shirts are flattering to different body types which makes this trend versatile for all sizes.
I found this adorable dress online a couple of weeks ago and couldn't resist. I was hesitant at first because I thought that the stripes might make my big hips look even bigger, LOL but the dress was actually very forgiving.
I love red and white together, but for some reason I always get stuck when trying to figure out what color to wear. I always go for the turquoise green first seen here
I decided to keep my accessories simple since the color and stripes were so bold.
What about you ladies? Do you love the peplum trend as much as I do? Check out some of my other peplum looks here and here

"Back to Life"

My life has been the speed of  a Japanese Bullet Train for the past month. Between managing my two businesses, moving, unpacking, and entertaining my mom and niece who are visiting from Utah, I have very little time for anything, so I apologize for the hiatus.
I am still living out of a suitcase with random articles of clothing that I threw in, however I did unpack all my shoes..*wink*. While doing so I ran across these platforms that I bought last summer.
I actually wore these earrings here, but because my hair was down I wasn't able to really show them off.
I am in L-O-V-E with my name plate necklace that I had custom made from Bauble Bar. I have been wanting one of these necklaces since Sex in the City first started and Carrie had one...LOL.
I know this post is a little picture heavy, but as you see the art work is truly AMAZING!!!
I am a work in progress when it comes to accepting my big legs, so in honor of the "thunder thighs" comment someone texted me yesterday, I decided to leave the picture up to show that yes I love ALL of me: my small waist, chunky arms, soft skin, big forehead, curvy hips, and YES even my rock solid thunder thighs..**flips hair**
